So... I'm back to the internet and computing in general (my Alienware laptop died for those slow on the uptake). Since many people (aka none of you) are curious about my new computer, here are the stats (mobo and optical drives excluded due to their lack of performance changing abilities):
Inside the machine:
Intel Pentium 4 Presscott 3.2 with HT
Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM 120 GB
GEIL Dual 2GB DDR2 533
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Value SB0400 (can handle 7.1 surround)
Asus Radeon Extreme AX850XT Platinum Edition 256 GDDR3
Outside the machine:
Saitek Eclipse Keyboard (it lights up)
Logitech Z-5500 505 Watts 5.1 Speakers (wattage is continuous. It has about a 1000 watt peak)
ViewSonic N2750w Black 27" LCD TV Monitor
Yes the monitor is that big. It also functions as a TV on the odd chance it's 11:00 and there is a new episode of The Daily Show on. In games, there is no ghosting and the picture is always crisp. It has a 900:1 contrast ratio if I remember correctly and has an 8ms response time (not gray-to-gray like some of those cheap guys try and fool you with). Plus there are no dead pixels which is always a fear and it only cost $740! That's like murdering half the orphanage and throwing the burning corpses of at the rest! Now how that is an anology for getting such a great deal, I have no idea. I just wanted to disturb anyone reading this.
