"And that was the greatest RE-generation"
Dear United States of America citizens,
You make me want to vomit and I hope you all die soon.
With hatred, Devon
PS. Explanation will follow.

So I watched "The Greatest American" yesterday. I would have commented on this yesterday but I would have smashed my keyboard out of anger and frustration. Normally, I would disagree with the use of the electoral college, but yesterday proved to me why we need to keep the idiots' voices from being heard. Reagan won. lmsdkglmsdaflmsdsa[omdvg[lmsdapvpkondavgmn Sorry about that. My anger has me banging the keyboard again. I want to know how Reagan beats out Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and Abraham Lincoln? I wouldn't mind to put Reagan in the top 25, sure (at place 25 or so mind you), but not only did he get in the top five, he won it all?!? What makes it even worse was the fact that George W. Bush got 6th and Bill Clinton got 7th. You may know that I swing towards the Democrat's way of thinking but even I, as much as I thought Bill was a good president, think that he shouldn't have made it to the top 100. You may be thinking that if I cared so much that I should have voted and that this rant is nothing but an angry after effect of my own laziness. I did vote. I voted for Dr. King from the very beginning. You may also be wondering who I would have put instead of many of the choices that seem wrong (Dr. Phil, George W. Bush, etc.). Well, Louie Armstrong and Earnest Hemingway (many other literary masters come to mind) come to mind rather quickly.

My list. Note that some reasons are long and some reason are short. The short ones (Dr. King for example) speak for themselves. The long ones (FDR), I just had more to say.
1) Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He was a martyr for the civil rights cause. He knew his life was in danger and he had feeling that he was going to die before his vision became a reality but he continued onward, thinking of others at his own expense.
2) Franklin Delano Roosevelt. I don't think any person past or present changed the world so much as FDR. If he hadn't been so strong in his urges to stop isolationism and to fight Hitler (who he knew was a huge threat to the world) we would probably all under German control. If he hadn't started the Manhattan Project when he did, the German's would be the ones to have nuclear weapons at their command (they were about 2 months from finishing when they surrendered). The nuclear age brought on the Cold War changing the political landscape of the world even more.
3) Abraham Lincoln. Without him, there would be no civil rights to defend (although I believe someone would have eventually freed the slaves if Abe hadn't).
4) George Washington. Without him, there would be no America (as with Lincoln, I believe someone would come along eventually. Also note that he would be higher if it weren't for the fact that he owned slaves). Another thing that makes me like Washington was that he was against political parties. He knew of the division it would cause. His fears are realized even today when a Democrat is called a Communist baby killer and a Republican is called a war mongering tycoon. Even the smaller parties get hit with this division (Green party is the best example, being called a pot smoking hippies) which is really pathetic on America's part.
5) The Wright Brothers. They were the top innovators on my list. They demonstrated how American ingenuity could be used to defy gravity. They also displayed how the American dream can turn two bicycle repair men into the two most influential people in aviation history.

you damn commie... no jk. Good list. Certainly Bush and Clinton are ridiculous to have up there. FDR... the reasons you list do qualify him, so I'll let that go even though I hate what his new deal has metastized into. Reagan... I love Reagan... he did a masterful job in facing down the Soviets. Number one, though... I'd say, maybe 3 or 4. King, Wright Bro's, good picks. How about Edison, though?
